SERVICES Through the Community Kindergarten
program, children and families will have their health, nutrition,
learning and development, social service, and family involvement needs
met, to ensure they are ready for school. To meet these needs, Community Kindergarten will provide the following services:
- coordinate a full range of flexible, family-focused services
to families with young children
- develop chlidren's
appropriate social, cognitive, and physical skills, and emotional
well-being;
- address children's medical, dental,
mental health, and nutritional needs;
- meet
children's daily nutritional needs;
- coordinate
parents' involvement in meeting children's educational, health, social
service, and other needs;
- ensure that the literacy
needs of parents are addressed through referral to and cooperation with
adult basic education programs and other adult literacy programs.
Community Kindergarten builds upon and
strengthens existing resources and services in the community, to meet
the needs of four and five year-old children and their
